Tire tread depth is expressed in 1/32 of an inch. A new tire typically has 9/32 to 10/32 of tread in the center. Tires are worn out and concidered illegal at 2/32. All tires have wear bars (tall spots in the grooves ) that indicate when the tread depth is 2/32. A handy tip is place a US Penny coin in the tread head first and if you can see the top of Mr. Lincoln's head your tire is worn out. Many people replace the tires long before 2/32.
34 psi sounds like a good pressure. Did you check the pressure with the tires absolutly cold? You can't run to the gas station and check them as this will always give a high reading since the tires warm up as you drive.
Check the tire pressures in your driveway before the car is driven for the day.
Drive Safe,
Joe
