...significant other, aka wife, took driver side air dam to snow bank last winter while taking daughter to lunch at Big Mac. She didn't even know she messed up the front until the car was in the garage one night. The hit was hard enough to dislodge part of the lower lip from the upper air dam, scratched up part of the upper air dam and broke one of the mounting bolt of the driver fog light.
I was about to replace all damaged parts, but decided that we were still in the winter that wouldn't go away, so I took the lower lip off (not a pleasant task in sub-freezing garage), cleaned it up and got a set of touch up paint and just painted over the scratches etc. etc....
The results look ok but given that it is low down in front, it is not noticable. I'm sure there will be more scratches to come so I just leave things be.
I have also considered putting in the plastic air dam from the Linear but decided against it. The air dam for the Linear costs about $70 or so last time I asked.
