I picked up the new check valve (is this the PVC valve?) and banjo bolt from the dealer. Came home and pulled the old parts. The look the exact same as the new ones, so I'm guessing that these were handled as part of a recall, even though the stamp to indicate the work was done isn't there.
At this point, I plan to return the parts. No need to spend $50 right now if I don't need to.
I'd be interested in knowing more about the pcv procedure. I'll do a search for it on the boards.
As far as the smoking is concerned, the initial symptom was after 5 days of sitting and I would consider it embarrasing.
However, after a short dirve it cleared up and now I just notice a small amount of smoke on startup. Not really a puff, more like some wisps. I can't notice anything while driving.
I can't tell if I'm losing power, as I just got the car about a month ago. The power doesn't seemed to have changed since that time, but maybe it already had this problem.
If I'm not going to hurt anything or damage the turbo by continuing to drive it, I'll just do that for now until the problem gets a bit worse and is more obvious. I'll look into getting the injectors tested as well.
