Can't argue with any of your figures, see your logic. Sounds like you need to go to the dealer and see what you can buy it for. Just because the dealer would lose money at auction, doesn't mean they'll lose a little less to a retail customer. An auctioned car never comes back. And hell, maybe they made an appraisal mistake and paid a little too much for a nice car, a comfortable scenario. If it's a nice car it wouldn't last here at MKB for $18,900 and we wouldn't send it to auction in 45 days either, that's silly. Sounds like the 3 day thing is to light a fire under you.
The Acura folks should let you take it to the local Saab for a pre-purchase inspection once your together on price.
