I learned this lesson a long time ago... When waxing the car be very careful NOT to get any on the black plastic! I've seen "professionally detailed" cars that have wax all over the trim... UGH.
What I find that works BEST is to work backwards, and treat the black plastic FIRST with some sort of trim shine product like Mother's "Back to Black" or even better Mequiars "Gold Class Trim Shine". This way the plastic isn't dry and ready to soak up wax!! And if you so happen to slop a little wax on the plastic it wipes right off... TRY IT!
Since you already have this problem, you might want to try either of the two products above (Mequiars is BETTER in my experience). Also, people have had good results with getter wax off with Peanut oil. There is something in peanut oil (peanut butter works too but is harder to clean up), that dissolves wax. And it's CHEAP!
