I wouldn't be too concerned. Your car may not have had the newer crankcase bypass valve / PCV system, and now it probably does. In any case, the system shouldn't be clogging up if you are changing the oil regularly. You might clarify this w/your dealer & keep an eye on it in the future.
Check some of the DI hysteria posts, and you will see some trends to avoid. IIRC, make sure you've got the right plugs, that they are clean and gapped properly.

At least you are getting past summer!
I understand your concern, but it seems like the repairs are done for now. Misdiagnosis or failure to repair the car the first time makes my head spin, but it sounds like that is part of the reason it's had the extra days in the shop.
One of the problems with a used car is often not really knowing the history. Unfortunately, most dealers don't really go thru the car until they have it sold, because they don't want to spend the $$$. In addition, if it wasn't theirs, they may not have it's history really documented.
As a rule, the sales types often don't really know what is going on, either, and rely on the "we'll go thru it - bs" story. If I was buying from a dealer, I would push to get it certified; then you know they went thru it. If not, I'd at least recommend having a good independent look it over.
So my guess is that you are unfortunately working out the bugs that caused it to get traded, or were just ignored if it was a lease / lease return. But the car should be fundementally sound once you're past the initial aggravation. Too bad your getting a rough start. At least you are getting some of the expensive fixes under your belt.
I've made several long road trips w/mine over the last couple of months, with no problem; it has 111k on it. Hopefully I won't see another breakdown, either. But I was sure UNHAPPY when I did! Good luck with it. And may neither of us find the DI blues!
