I reread my post and it might have been hard to follow. The upgrade kit w/solve many issues. Many of the symptoms w/be a bit different for different cars depending on which of the many parts needing upgrading are involved. But I suspected that your car might be a candidate, which is why I brought it up.

If you are beginning to have trouble while it's under warranty, I'd push for the whole repair, especially if you are keeping the car. In my case, the car was in the shop under warranty for "transmission" on several occassions, but it was before the upgrade kit was available, and they didn't have a fix. The kit is more than synchros, it includes some of the gating, too.

Since I bought it out of warranty, it is now *my* problem, even though the problem with the car was documented and the car was an early one. Frankly, I'm SURE the transmission wasn't abused by the prior owner, and I'm fairly careful with it, so I'm living with it for now. If you have the option NOT to live with it, I'd follow up! I'm holding out at 111K....
