A while back I posted a long explination of how I wired up the 2000 9-5. It was a long post you might want to try looking up.
I will look at my car and see if I can make a more detailed post, but here is a quick summary:
You need to remove the radio. to do this buy the tool from Saab and insert it into the four holes in your radio. Pull the radio out. (You can use the allen key method but I DO NOT advise it. I tried this at first and it led to lots of frustration. with the saab tool it is easy.
You also need to remove the radio sleeve from the dash. be careful when doing this because the sleeve is a thin piece of metal and could easily cut you. (wear gloves if you want to be real safe) To do this I gently pulled the back of the sleeve both down and out. Do this on all four edges. Once one edge is out it is easy to get the rest out. (the reason I pulled down was to bend the sleeve slightly and change its projected length.
To remove the glove box you need a torx driver (T20 i think) There are four or five screws on the bottom and a three or four on the top.
The passenger side a pillar cover comes out on snap clips. Pull gently but firm starting at one end and it will come out
The visor is held in with a few torx fasteners. Unscrew and remove. You should also remove the small visor clamp to allow the headliner to drop for neat wiring to the mic.
To remove the overhead console you should first remove the clear cover over the light in it and unscrew the torx fastener. from there it is held in with a couple of snap clips.
OK I think that is a basic description. The install is not that hard but can be scary if you are not accustomed to pulling parts off your car.

PS
if you have major issues post back and I will e-mail you my phone number and we can work it out from there. If you happen to live in MI perhaps I could help you out...
