Lou - I can appreciate that the ambient temp in the car cannot be overly -affected by dual zone, but most people do like COLD air blowing right on them in the summer and WARM air blowing on them in the winter. It isn't much different then a fan blowing on you on a hot summer day. It won't change the temp in the house, but it sure makes you feel better when you're standing in front of it. So from that ascpect, it is valuable and not a marketing gimick. And from that aspect, I would hope the Saab can operate on at least the same level as a chrysler minivan. (But I concede to your point - I am sure Chrysler spends an inordinate amount of time on items like climate control compared to those irrelavent things under the hood).
So back to my original question, does anyone else, except for Simon in Vancouver, have a dual zone that actually blows markedly different temp air based on the settings? I would be happier knowing it DOES work and go back for service than my current thinking that Saab just doesn't do it well. Let me know
