Driving with a restrained foot, and with frequent use of the cruise control, I managed 35 MPG! This is by the trip odometer/full tank method.
However, I suspect that when I filled up in Buffalo that the gas pump may have shut off a bit early--the SID showed a slightly lower figure, at 33+ MPG.
Still, quite a respectable figure for 70-80 mph cruise speeds through some hilly terrain (especially through NJ on I-80 and also through the Pocono Mountains in PA)
bRAD, sorry I was unable to contact you, I'm not gonna be in T.O. very long and I'm busy with family, etc. the whole weekend. I'll take a raincheck on that beer though!
I'd have liked to see how far I could have stretch that tank of gas--I think more than 500 miles is easily attainable--but I wanted to fill up for less $$$ before crossing into Canada. With about 420 miles on the trip odometer, there was still more than 1/4 tank of gas left!
Maybe on the return trip I'll go for a 500 mile+ tank.
