I just acquired a Magellan MAP330x GPS and need a switched 12 volt source near the driver's left knee. Can anyone recommend an easy location and circuit to splice into? And instructions on how to remove the panels? If there is nothing convenient, how hard would it be to string wires under the dash and into the console to splice into the existing power socket wires?
BTW, the MAP330x is soooo cool - I uploaded detailed street data for all of the Puget Sound area, where I live, as well as most of SW Colorado (I am planning a trip there in a month or so) and the detail is incredible - even tiny gravel lanes off secondary roads, as well as jeep trails, are shown. If anyone is interested, the 330x includes a car mount, pc interface/ power cord, and map software for about $250USD, and in addition there is a $30 rebate from Magellan going on through July. It's a heck of a deal, since the items purchased seperately would cost almost $400.
