modified ttansmission 9000 to new 9-5 ratios Posted by MTAERO [Email] (#2408) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MTAERO) on Wed, 9 May 2001 01:07:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
9-5 Aero owners might appreciate the last mod to my Abbott 95 9000 AERO.
After busting a hole in the tranny case when the ring and pinion gear went out I wanted to make a real change in the box before re assembly. We installed ring and pinion gears with different ratios to give the 9000 the same final drive as the 9-5's.(4.05:1)
This made an incredable difference in the overall drivability of the car.
The 9000 ia a good 200 lbs lighter than the equivalent 9-5 AERO and now with the same overall gear ratios the 9000 AERO re-asserts itself as the Saab to beat.
Any 9-5 owners who have had 9000 Aero's might be able to relate to this, others please do not be offended.
