Asking which oil to use, is like asking someone their favorite flavor ice-cream. I will agree with you, if you read through all the posts you'll probably only come through more confused than you started. When I last went for an oil change, the mechanic (whose garage works ONLY on Saabs) said it was fine to use the Saab semi-synth (5W-30). I went in with the same question and my intent was to use Mobil1 10W-30. He managed to convince me to stay with Saab's semi for cost purposes; however, when he went to change the oil he didn't have enough to semi so in the end we went with Mobil1 10W-30.

I know you're supposed to be able to go 10K miles between changes; however, I still keep to a 3K interval. I never actually managed to change at 3K due to laziness, etc. but I will get it changed before 5K.
