what to do about lease?

I would like everyone's opinion please. I have a 9-3 saab, year 2000, automatic, 2.0 4cyl, leather seats with sunroof and 28000miles. The lease is up in April 04. I would like to purchase the car but the residual ($13700) is higher than what similar cars are selling for. Do you think Saab will lower the residual price or is this number carved in stone? I could just turn it in and lease a new one but I'm ready to be finished with car payments.
