'00 and '01 A/T Aeros are "Torque challenged", thanks to the puny 4-speed a/t. From '02 on a stronger unit has been used, allowing the engine it's full torque rating.
Other than that, it's maintenance, maintenance, and maintenance in that order. Judging rom what I've seen of the later 9000s, these are 300,000 mile engines, but I've seen them hanging on a hook to correct sludge-fouled chain tensioners before their third (Saab paid) oil change.
interestingly, a high mileage car can be a better buy than a low mileage one. Given poor maintenance, the car won't make it to 100,000 on the original engine, so a big number on the ODO might be a "badge of honor" in terms of quality of care. (and it'll cost a lot less).
