If you're committed to getting a 99', get one from later in the production year (look at the VIN to tell). Sometimes the wheels are a give away as well. The three spoke delta wheels are on the early 99's while the later cars have the five spoke wheels shared with the Saturn LS. Finally, the very early 99 interiors have a wet dog smell while the late 99's have the nice leather aroma. In fact, that wonderful leather smell persists in my car 4 years and 66K miles later. My father and I both have 99's and his experience and mine have been night and day. His early production has had a slew of problems (and probably soured him on the line) while my late production has been flawless. Do your homework, get ALL of the service records. Wait for that car that has the stamped book ... it's worth it. Get it certified if you can.
