Hi
Saab has made four cylinder four in line motors since 99. They have become a living legend. The V6 motors on 9-5, 9000 and NG900 are made by GM/OPEL. Ofcourse Saab engineers has tweaked the, but the solution is basicly same as Opel Omega (3.0) and Vectra (2.5).
Four cylinder engines has been designed from the cratches by Saab. They use their engine management system and DI. So for me Trionic (version 7) has always been a corner stone of modern engine management.
The same thing is with automatic Vs. manual. Saab has designed manual themselves, but automatic is from GM. So I go for Saab, because it's simply better.
