Assuming it's a 4-cylinder, the basic answer is "yes", shortening the rod should increase the base boost.
However, unless it was out of spec to begin with, it's unlikely to make much difference in how the car performs. The Trionic 7 system uses the BPC (aka APC) valve as well as a motorized throttle plate to carefully regulate the performance of the motor. Anything you do to upset the "balance" of the system is likely to produce no results, unless it's too extreme and then you'll likely be rewarded with a CEL.
