Sloppy steering Posted by Andy [Email] (#759) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Andy) on Sat, 22 Nov 2003 20:02:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 2000 9-5 Aero and love everything but the steering. Well, the car could have a little less roll too but the steering is the big issue.
Anyone have solutions for the overboosted, large deadband steeering on the 9-5 Aero. I can't imagine that this steering is the same as what they use in Europe. The overboost reminds me of a Cadillac. Did GM corrupt the DNA?
I was wondering if underdriving the current power steering pump would help. Does anyone make a kit for this?
Are there adjustments that can be made to tighten up the deadband?
Is there a different steering pump I could use?
I think that I saw some braces at Abbot Racing. Do these help? Does anyone else make something similar but less expensive?
Would urethane suspension bushings do anything for this?
I'd like the car much better if the steering was improved.
Anything else?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
