a) Re: "touring pack" automatic wipers are really effective, that and the accompanying "backing up alarm" are worth the money. In the olden days ('02-'03) they came packed with Xenon electric arc discharge headlights, and those alone are worth the freight. Don't discard this out of hand.
2) Re: Aero Wagon w/stick ... blame the messenger - Saab builds 'em how the dealers order them, but the dealers do not want what 75% of people who WON'T buy on their lot when 75% of those who *would* buy a stick will leave with an a/t if that's all that's there. Rocky Mountain Saab CLub member Tom Nelson went through this with his Aero Wagon, finally ordering one special ... AND THEN someone "sold" his car out from under him while it was on the truck from the port to the dealership! Fortunately his salesperson quickly filed the title work and delivered the car before the other owner could physically claim the car. Find the dealership that ordered the stick and buy it from them as a reward, and be sure to tell your local dealer that is why you bought elsewhere.
