SE wagon cruises thru ice and snow

Recently picked up a 2000 SE V6 wagon with 50K on it. This morning was its first ride on ice and snow covered roads in Kansas City. Being a previous long time owner of SUVs and a current Subbie owner I was a bit sceptical about FWD only. I had read that the Saab TCS and "winter mode" might fight it out a bit on slick roads. My result: no problems...the TCS suppressed the engine revs and braked well and the winter mode always let me start slow and sure. I may end up getting winter tires as I have the Michelin MXV tires on it, but they behaved at least OK in a mix of snow over a thin ice coating. Not sorry yet to have gone with a Saab, its a great cruising machine.
