We all applaud Saab's choice to make it possible to upgrade the power on any 9-5 without voiding the warrantee. My speculation that their choice to do so only for a particular model year was based on business considerations really shouldn't excite such a tone of umbrage on their behalf. General Motors is a business where actions are taken for business reasons; it is their moral and legal obligation to their shareholders to successfully manipulate the market for their products within the limits of the law. Do you think this was done to save the humpback whale or to get more fiber into people's diets? Is it possible that you really believe the reason they chose to upgrade the later model year first was because they had had more time to consider it? I love Saab, too; but get real, it's just a car company.
