Hi bRAD: The thing you have described has been my pet peeve with Saabs for the ten plus years I have been driving them. Every time I open the drivers door and push it out,it just comes home to roost on my left knee, king of like a loyal Golden Retriever that just keeps coming back to it''s owner and resting it's head on your knee. Only in this case it's 60 pounds of steel and glass. To me this is just a pain in the butt( actually, knee). Both 9000's and both 9-5's I have had do the same thing. When the very first 9-5 was in the country back in 97,I had a preview of it and upon getting in it, the very first thing I did was try the door to see if this car did it. ( I had been bitchin to the higher ups in Norcross about this issue a lot),and the first pilot run car did not do it as bad. Perhaps once the production guys got a hold of it they figured out how to mess it up.Short of taking the door strap out and grinding out the detents deeper to give it more holding power,I doubt that it can be fixed.I was not about to redesign my door hold detents on my own, but have been amazed that more people do not mention this as a complaint.
