Some Answers...
1. The chip is ONLY available now for 2000 cars. As far as I know, it will not work in the 2001 car, (and thus 2002). I'm pretty sure that there is a difference in the 2000 and 2001 ECU programs, so it's not possible.
2. According to my dealer, trionic will still adjust valve timing to the grade of gasoline you are burning, so the use of premium is recommended, but not necessary. You will lose some of the performance gain, presumably, since the engine is running hotter, and has to compensate further for low grade fuel.
3. The Automatic transmission unit is the same design amongst all 9-5's. So presumably, since the Aero can handle the extra power, so can the LPT. Now they may have beefed up the trans in the Aero (I know it has an upgraded clutch on the manual), but you should be good to go.
4. Which leads me to the 4th point. The chip is waranteed by Saab, and it will not void your warantee. Saab wouldn't release the upgrade if the car wasn't up to it. (would be a DOT nightmare!)
Hope this helps. BTW- w/ upgrade, it's like a new car!!
