There's three idlers, an upper, lower, and tensioner. There's two versions of the upper on the 9-5 ... 'early' 99 had a smaller pulley. Check the VIN range on Saabsite. They have a dizzying array of (some old) part numbers, but as the dealer stands, there's a little (NG, early 9-3, early 9-5) and a big.
Easiest way to tell is the center hole. Small pulley had a ~8mm hole, bigger has a standard 17mm hole.
