I never said that the Aero doesn't have good low rpm tq. Turbos make it fairly easy to control TQ curves (S4 is pretty darn flat also). The aero does have lag as you mentioned, more than the S4 and obviously infinetly more than a NA engine.
For the record, I think the Aero is a great solution for its segment of the market. I just don't think that comparing its engine based on peak power specs is appropriate. It is what it is...a highly boosted 4 cylinder...nothing more, nothing less.
In my mind, NA aspirated engines make better performance engines at the sacrifice of mileage. Pressing the gas and hanging out for the boost to catch up is entertaining for awhile but not as involved as I would like in a sporty car.
