For the most part your AC is ALWAYS on, unless you hit the ECON button which disables the A/C.
Something else you might be interested in: there is a way to disable your ACC system from turning on automatically when you start the car. Some folks, myself included, don't like the idea of their A/C system turning on when you first start the car. I thought it added a lot of extra on/off cycling to the system. Search old posts and you'll see the key sequence to set that. I believe it's something like when the system is off, hitting the OFF and ACC buttons at the same time, but I'm probably wrong there. There are several hidden commands for the system, that you can find by search old posts.
