You can do whatever you want if you've got the time and money.
I'd recommend against a remote starter though... you're not only wasting resources and increasing your pollution contribution but you risk damaging your car from leaving it idling and increase the chances somebody will take it while its running.
Heated seats get warm pretty quick, and the car's not too far behind. Just let it idle for 30 seconds or so and drive away slowly. Take it easy until it comes up to temp and you're all warmed up. I park my car on the street in Toronto- (Its -18C right now) and I usually throw my parka in the back seat and just wear a light sweater when I'm in the car. I'm usually cold for about 1 min until the seat warms up and then I'm fine.
NO NEED TO IDLE!
IDLING IS BAD!
