The 9-5 is an expensive vehicle. Any vehicle that is expensive enough to reduce the number of young drivers will see safer driving. That will reduce the claim damage against that model, but perhaps will have no effect on normalized data at all. So two issues, what happens in an accident and what portion of 9-5's are in accidents. The ABS and ESP should be reducing accidents and perhaps damage in some accidents. OnStar with emergency vehicles deployed may save lives and reduce death stats in the really bad accidents... thats the point right?
