I drive up to Sugarbush from Boston throughout the winter season. VT roads are kept in reasonable shape...salt/sand, though some areas use less salt.
My Aero wagon (with 16 inch snows) has been unstoppable, even in the heaviest snow storms. Either car will be fine....but if the weather looks dicey (I think they are forecasting a nasty mix of rain/sleet/snow for Friday), then the Audi might be the better choice, since both cars have all season tires. Either way, I wouldn't worry if you really want to take your Saab...just as long as it's not riding on its 17 inch rims and summer tires...those will be completely useless in the snow!
Cheers,
Paul H.
