not much room in the 9-3 convertible

My wife and I test drove a 9-3 last year, but liked the 9-5 much better, so that's what we bought. We were at our dealer (Dana Saab in Billings, MT) last Friday and looked at a new 9-3 convertible they had parked outside (with the top down in February, no less!). Very little room in the back seat, and a tiny trunk, compared with the 9-5. I'm not sure, but I don't think the back seat folds down, either. Those factors would lead us away from owning one, although they really do look nice.
We keep our 1983 Mercedes Benz 280SL (Euro version) in the garage with the top down all summer. I think having a sedan for daily use and a convertible for pleasure driving is the best way to go.
