I am on my second 9-5 as well, and after 50 K miles in two years, only the very front facing surfaces have any road rash.NO more than any other car though. I find it hard to believe that you have chips underneath the clear protective film that occured with the film in place! How could the paint get chipped without the film barrier having been broken? I also believe tht cars that spend a lot of time in close proximity to the bumper of the car in front of them get the raw end of the deal, but nly you can be the judge of how that might affect your car. Other than the front road rash,my car(a 2002 Aero) is chip and blemish free, and I would have to say that it is among the very best finishes I have had on any car.
