It's an excellent idea to change the oil just before storing the car. Starting it and idling it periodically is a more questionable procedure. The concern is oil dillution from the long, slow warm-ups. I think I might change the oil again, but the filter is just fine. Or, take it on a good, long trip (a couple or three hours) to drive the accumulated fuel out of the oil. Next winter, if you store it, change the oil just before, but just charge the battery every couple of weeks and don't do the idle thing.
