Hey guys, great board here. Just bought a used 99 9-5(4 cylinder, automatic) Wagon with 58,000 miles. I only put on maybe 10,000 miles per year so mileage was very good in my opinion. And after reading all these awful reviews im scared to death!LOL Anyway, I got it at a Saab Dealership. It has no records which surprised me. This place is VERY reputable, the car was traded in at 53,000 in January and has been used as a loaner, the salesman assured me that it was run through the shop, ect and that the dealership backs up what they sell(I guess everyone says that) 30 day warranty on all the powertrain stuff. Rode like a dream. Manufactured date on door sticker was June of 99. I know the 60,000 major service is coming up in 2000 miles, im gonna bring it to my Saab specialist who luckily is right next door to where i work. Dealer had basic stuff replaced since they had it: battery, blades, ect.. I guess my question is, would a Saab dealership thoroughly check a trade out before they would accept it from a customer? Anyway, im keeping my 92 9000 with 241,000 miles on it as a backup!! Any advice or horror stories would be appreciated, especially positive ones! Also, when this turbo goes, how much will that nail me for? Also, I wasa offered an extended warranty (2 years) for 80.00 a month(powertrain) IS that worth it?
