I extracted this from the technical training information that was available on the web some time ago. I assume this is sufficient. I have included the diagram summary. The article mentions the disablement of the flash-to-pass for high beams in the US/CA/JP markets. It also seems to indicate that this is controlled through 2 relays. To quote, “The main and dipped beams are controlled by DICE via 2 relays.” Again I wonder if a simple relay swap is all that is needed. Maybe someone with European contacts can look into this.

I gather that your wiring instructions, posted below, need to be done to each side separately. Last I looked the headlamp wires are all contained within the housing. Did this pose a challenge? Any particular grade/brand/type of wiring and/or connectors that I should use? I want to be sure this alteration lasts the life of the car without any problems.

Also, you mentioned cutting a wire in case the high-beam fuse blows. Does it matter if one motor drive powers both halogen filaments? I would like to avoid cutting if necessary.

One of my main objectives is to make the flash to pass more visible. I have noticed that drivers, particularly in the daytime, do not notice the xenons flashing. The on/off of the flash to pass is more visible. (I have considered disabling the xenons as DRLs by TechII option 1, but am uncertain. I like the city bulb only look, but value the xenons additional visibility.)
