We have a '99 9-5 se v6. Aside from the heater box issue ('99's only), the car has performed flawlessly, and now has 86k on her. The v6 is a very good, powerful engine, full of low end torque. At 86k, and 5 years old, the car runs, drives, and looks like new. Timing belt change and TIMING BELT TENSIONER replacement need to be done at 60k. No DI failures either.
We also have an aero wagon, with the I4. Each engine has different characteristics. I cannot describe the differences in 10 sentances or less, but they are there. Perhaps someone else can. The Aero is in general just a different driving and feeling car.
Good luck.
