If on the front, you could move it to the rear and the lesser corning forces would lessen or elimate the leak. Finding that out would be good to verify the rim theory. Otherwise, your leak tests do seem to confirm that the tire does not leak - so perhaps no warranty issue at all -. (Taking time with a soap test will expose problems that cannot be seen with other quicker methods. Use on a cold tire, out of the sun and wind to avoid drying.)

You may need a new wheel, or get the old one trued up. You might find a source for this that has a bank off wheels on hand and perhaps you can get an exhange price and reduce your down time and ship the old wheel back for a 'core' credit or whatever they call it.

There are some combo patches with plug stems, that seal the inner casing and the hole at the same time. So there is some room for confusion. I have used plug repairs in the past with never any difficulties. I applied on once to a tire on a horse trailer while on the road, complete with horses. No need to remove the wheel to do the job. (That was a long time ago, and a different wife...)
