New features on the faclifted 9-5 that will be shown for the first time in Köpenhamn Denmark on the 4-5 of July 2001.
- the 9-5 Aero will get Viggen's chairs in beige or dark blue textile/leather
- The Aero gets 250hp
- the Automatic gearbox will have 5-gears instead of just 4.
- ESP can be ordered as extra equipment.
- New bumpers, headlights (halogen or xenon), and rear lights.
- The Wagon looks a little like the Mercedes E-class.
- New textile interior a lot more German looking, rougher and nicer (beige or dark blue).
- New leather that is rougher patterned
- Brushed aluminum panels as factory option and a new wooden panel that's more matt.
- Four new aluminum-wheels, two 16" and two 17". The Aero model gets new 17" with many thin spokes partly angled spokes, they look a little like the BMW M3 wheels.
- Two new colors: . Walnut-brown metallic and a new cream-white solid color.
- It will possible have two diesel engines 125hp 4cyl (9-3:s) and the 170hp (Isuzu)
- 4-wheeldrive as an option
- The gasoline powered engines will probably start at 185hp.
