Opel...in my case an Opel Manta tipped off the jack, which was on of those long 18 inch bars at an angle, and the ratcheting moved the purchase up the teeth. This was in 1973, so the memory is fuzzy.
As it collapsed, the top of the bar very nearly punched a hole in the sheet metal (not to mention me!). I'm thinking...I'm a good mechanic, and am doing everything right. What kind of danger does this bring to the less mechanical type??? And WHAT WERE THEY THINKING???? Very scarry!!!!!!
The Saab can't be that tippy, but saving weight and money is always fraught with negatives.
