I had the opportunity to drive a friend's 3.5 V6 Aurora shortly after I purchased my 9-5 lpt. The Aurora had over 20k miles and my Saab had less than 2k, but I couldn't help noticing the dramatic differences in design philosophies. The Olds seemed to be very poorly designed/assembled - lots of noises you'd expect from a Delta 88 of the early eighties or seventies. Also, I just didn't like the feel. . . disconnected from the road.
Anthony brings up a good point about the head restraint. Even if it is perfectly safe, I felt a little uncomfortable not having that reassuring feel of Saab's sturdy seat design. It was a long distance between the back of my head and the head reast.
One last thing. . . The Saab feels less cramped. On the Olds redesign from the earlier Aurora models, they've made a lot of improvements in the use of space, but I prefer the 9-5 layout.
