in particular, those that do this for a living. This is regarding a car other than a Saab but the principle is the same. My colleague has a 2 yr old car that failed inspection due to a leaking front strut. At 32K it is still under warranty but the dealer is refusing to replace both front struts. I doubt they would consider for a moment replacing one strut only if it was out of warranty irrespective of age. Is she being unreasonable in asking for this? Maybe it's not a big deal if it's an isolated defect where the older one can be expected to last another 75-100K but I have no idea what the service life of parts are on cars I'm unfamiliar with. FWIW, it's a Nissan Maxima.
Apologies if this should be on the General board but I doubt the techs spend much time there.
