I have a Y2000 Aero wagon doing this same thing. I have noted that an the fuel tank door/flap there is a note to use >90 octane for optimum performance, and the manual does mention this also. The knock is more annoying than anything. I have switched from 87 to 89 octane and done two treatments of Techron with some improvement. Although, the knock is still there if I accelerate hard in sports mode.
The plugs should have been changed by the dealer at the 60K service, but I think there's an issue with the spark plug gap. There is an earlier thread on this.
