My 2000 black 9.5 aero took a truck tire tread on the bottom of the chin a coule of days ago (it was laying flat across the road and against the new tar it was virtually invisible as I ran over it doing about 85). Anyway, it took out both my fog lights, the pastic engine guard, the lower air dam, and broke two necessary attachment tabs off the bumper. So, it looks like I'm going to have to replace all those items.

I put the car up on jack stands last night and feel damn lucky that all the damage seems to have been sustained by the pieces I mentioned - the car is still runs and drives fine. I removed the damaged components (these cars SEEM surprisingly easy to work on) last night as well and am now faced with buying them from the dealer or finding a less expensive route.

I want to get new parts and am hoping somebody on this board will have a source. Don't get my wrong, my dealer is FANTASTIC - but they won't be cutting me any special deal on parts I can install myself. Also, does anyone know if the lower air dam and bumper can be delivered pre-painted to match Saab colors - black isn't very hard to match since the cars is barely a year old.

Since I've got the front end off, now may be the time for me to consider the Abbott racing stuff (ECU, intercooler).

Anyway, if any of you know a good souce for parts, please pass it on.
