Well, I've been saying for years that a turbo charged car is not just average, everyday ride. It is a special breed.
Turbos need to warm up to get sufficient oil flow when started, and when stopped, they should be spun down from high speeds to prevent oil from 'coking' inside the turbo.
Sure, the water cooling and better oil flow on a 9-5 turbo help reduce this requirement to some extent, but if you jump in a cold Saab and floor it, or come in from a high speed run and simply shut off the engine, turbo failure is much more likely to result.
So, take it easy while the engine warms up, and let the car idle for a bit before shutting it off. I've done this on all my turbo Saabs, and have never replaced a turbo... nor have I ever used synthetic oil.
