I just had a thing with a dealer that charged me 1 hour to diagnose a problem. Now of course it couldn't have taken an hour to read the error code, and that is part of the thing I objected to. A mechanic I know said of course they charge to diagnose, and then recounted a story how he spent x many hours trying to figure a problem out. Well I can almost see that, but my opinion is I am hiring a knowledgeable professional. He should not be spending all sorts of time learnig what is wrong with my car. He should be able to pop open the hood and tell me whats wrong. He should have the education and experiance to be able to quickly discover what is wrong, I should not be financing his on the job training at $95 per hour.
Whats your opinion?
And by the way, I am glad you are up and running. Thanks for letting me rant on.
