On the headlamp washers, you read it correctly. The idea (per the Saab guy at Aero Academy who I asked the same questions) is to make sure -- if you have a really dirty windshield and are hitting the wash button multiple times in succession -- that the headlamps don't get unneccessarily washed every time along with the windshield, only every 5th time.
Also, note that the headlights have to be on for the headlamp washer to function. DRLs are interpreted as headlamps "on" for this test regardless of the position of the headlight switch. Pulling fuse 35 disables the DRLs.
Also, you have to trigger the washers for a good steady 1/2 second or longer (I forget the exact duration) to involve the headlamp washers. Just a quick flick to squirt the windows won't trigger them no matter what.
I think I recall it correctly, but YMMV.
BTW, how is your A/C coping so far?
