The early specs used to be .9mm +.1 -.2. Beter to start on the lower side of the tolerance band and let the gap erode open from there to get greater in-gap service life between replacement or regapping.
BPCR7ES11s are reported to work better in high power modified setups and some evidence for greater HP on the dyno with larger gaps. But then the gap is eroding to gaps that might not be the best from the get go. Different situation that is easily taken out of context. Also, planinum plugs have been found to be unsuitable for high HP applications.
