2Slow,
I would like to fix the Alt. Whine noise in my 2001 9-5 SE that is setup with OEM - Onstar installation, a Triad, and Nokia 6160 Car Kit. If you don't mind, I have a couple of questions for you about the Capacitor solution you have been describing in previous threads.
I have been reading all of your threads on the recommended solution for the Alternator Whine and would like to attempt a similar fix to my car.
Do you know of a location where one might be able to find the parts you are describing like the capacitor with "very_ low ESR (Equivalent series resistance) and a capacitance of 50 uF or more"? In addition to the capacitor what other parts are needed to make up a filter that can be attached to the alternator? After I have the parts, what would be the recommended assembly process?
By any chance do you have a photo of a complete installation?
I am willing to purchase the different parts and put the filter together myself, it is just that I don't know if all the parts are available at our friendly Radio Shack or some other Web site. And, once I have them all whether I am actually installing it correctly :)
Any help you can provide will be appreciated,
Kevin
