Dean, Thanks for the feed back on the Serpentine belt. Two days ago I did talk to a man by the name of Stan at Saab Site and he told me about the shorter belt to skip the top center pulley. According to him the center pulley does nothing but eliminate stress on other pulleys or prevent alot of slack of the belt between the pulleys. My question to you is what is the real benefit to having the shorter belt? And is it made by continental? I hope it is not made by them. By the way, have you had any experience or heard of anyone having tried the "Gates" serpentine belts? I was thinking of getting their product because of the quality and price from a place here in Pasadena, Ca. Have you found out the lenght of that shorter belt?(5590344) If not, what other sourse do you have to answer your question? The local Saab dealer tomorrow? Thanks a lot for the feed back on my question, D.J.B. in Pasadena
