Marie, congratulations. Getting a new car, especially a Saab,is an exciting time. If you are buying a used car and you don't really know it's background I would take it to an independent mechanic and have it checked out. It will cost you a little bit of money but it could save you a lot. Even if the seller is honest he might have a problem he is not aware of. In LA you might want to contact Anders. As far as the transfer of the car. If he has a loan I would make the transfer in his bank. If you are taking out a loan you can do it in your bank. Banks know what needs to happen and what paperwork to use. You won't get the title in your name at the time. At best you will get his title signed over to you and you'll need to take it to the DMV to get a new one.
